They've been threatening to do it for years now.

It's good that they have added buses to the route and increased/regularised the frequency to every 15 mns weekdays.

The lack of connecting buses at Kent was sheer crackpot and indeed it is amazing this took so long to happen. Heuston also is going to need a lot more buses when the Kildare Route Project is up and running. Luas is not going to be able to handle the extra demand...already at crush load. That road at the side of the Heuston station which brings you down to the car parking and Platform 10 would make a good bus pick up area for a shuttles from Heuston into the Docklands and over into Grand Canal Dock via the East Link...with Port Tunnel opening soon there is going to be a lot of extra road capacity along the north quays for buses out of Heuston...and yes, I know this off topic, but jesus...I hope they do not take as long at Heuston as they have in Cork to figures this very obvious stuff out. Connections from train to buses is the most basic and important transit integration which can be undertaken and we are still hopeless at doing such in this country. Why is something as simple as having buses connect with trains such a monumental concept to come to terms with in this country...

I still cant believe this didnt happen 20 years ago.

Basically Kent station is almost a mile from the centre of the city where you want to go.

Theres no cover and plenty of dodgy trafficlights, so if its pissing rain you get soaked. Utter, utter bull**** and Ive been ranting about the lack of a bus from there for years. At least they've FINALLY decided to sort it.

Ah, but you forget the wonderful shuttle service that used to operate until now. I think it was called route # 15 and there was at least one - or maybe even 2! - services a day from the station to Patrick St.
