    Hi,

Anyone here know the easiest way to get a press/photographers pass for the Mondello track? I'm not interested in making money just in getting some decent photo's for my own enjoyment.

I'm willing to work with another photographer and give any decent shots of mine to them for sale. I use a Canon DSLR.

I tried emailing the circuit but no reply, will try again. Just thought someone on here might know the best way.

    Cheers,

    Matt

Ring them, don't email, you'll (hopefully) get a more direct response.

Oh, and don't give your shots to another photographer. Never sell yourself short.

A press pass is only required for big events and for that you would need written proof from a mag/paper. Generally their ok at smaller events once your not in hitting distance of the cars. I find they generally ignore you if you have a big camera hanging from your shoulder. I got into the enclosed pits and on to the circut while they were at the grid last year and nobody said anything. Basically just don't go near any areas that you may be a danger to yourself or others, eg. the outside of a corner.

I would imagine he's looking to get onto the track (infront of the spectator fence) and there is no way you can shoot well otherwise. I had to bend a hole in the fence last year to fit my 300mm through :D

find out the company who promtes whatever event you want to shoot

ring them and tell them you are seeking a photo pass for your website or if you have a college/school newspaper, try and use that as they would generally have to see some benefit form letting you shoot their event

(eg: for concert events you go through MCD, for motorsport events they surely have equivalent promotion companies)

That's exactly what I'm looking for. A lot of the events that I'm interested in would be the club motorbike racing. I'm not sure that they have a promoter do they ??

I'd also love to get a pass for the BTCC :)

    Cheers,

    Matt

Contact mondello directly, they have a press office and also have personnel responsible for issuing press passes. they are very strict and it's not easy to get a pass. I am a member of a car club and sometimes I cant get one, even for an event that our club is running!!
