ntsc gamecube problem

Can anyone help me get my american gamecube working with this tv http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5303867/Trail/C$cip%3D28956.Sound+and+vision%3EC$cip%3D29029.Televisions%3EC$cip%3D29033.Standard+(CRT)+televisions.htm

It says it's NTSC compatible, but when I start any original or backup game. It's B&W!

any ideas?

This is a problem with NTSC DVDs and usually requires you to just change a setting on the DVD player to RGB if I remember so I don't know how to fix the problem, sorry I am useless maybe mess with the settings on the TV for the input you're using

You need an RGB SCART cable. But wait! the US Gamecube is a special case, and any old SCART cable bought here won't work. You need to buy a modified component cable / NTSC Gamecube RGB cable from somewhere online. It'll cost over $30.

I thought the colour encoding was dictated by the game. It must be dictated by the console. That modified cable will do the job, as long as your TV has a SCART input.

decided to get VGA cable, so i can use progessive scan with spare monitor.
have video in on graphics card for unsupported games.

The VGA cable on the Lan-Kwei page? It's also made from a component cable.
