I know there's a lot of these knockin around, but I guess everyone has their own tastes!

For me, this time round i'm looking for recommendations based on instrumentation, a factor I find important when suggestion bands to people. So what i'm looking for is any piano/drums combinations anybody knows of? Preferably alternative style, not a fan of pop.

A few of you may know the Dresden Dolls, which would be a prime example of what i'm talking about. So lets hear em people!

Going on the piano moreso than the drums...

Rufus Wainwright?? I'm a huge fan myself!

He has four albums released, Rufus Wainwright, Poses, Want One and Want Two....the want series are excellent, however my favourite album would definitely be Poses.

Maybe try a few tracks and see if ya like...

Foolish Love & Beauty Mark off Rufus Wainwright

Poses off well you guessed it, Poses, if any track get that one first
Grey Gardens off Poses is also worth a listen

    Oh What a World
    Beautiful Child
Movies of Myself...all off Want One

    The Art Teacher
Memphis Skyline (song about Jeff Buckley)
Little Sister (mozartian style piano)...all off Want Two

    Enjoy! :D

Never been released but if you ever see a Nick Cave solo show being billed, go. It's him on piano, a drummer, bass player and violin. I can't think of any more piano/drum combinations like the Dolls though.
