    Hi,

Is there too much heat over a fireplace for a flat screen TV? What is the most heat resistant type?

    Any experiences?

    tks,

    TC:confused:

    It all depends really...

Next time you've the fire on for a while walk up and put your hand roughly where you intend the bottom of the screen to stop on the wall. If its a bit warm its fine but if your starting to feel real heat it'd be a big no no...

A mantal piece will also deflect alot of rising heat outwards preventing it from hitting the screen. Generally speaking I've seen a good few open fires plasma's mounted over them and they work fine. Gas Fires also then to direct more heat outward so they are even better suited.

    Hope this helps
