can anyone advise me on safely using this card in ROI.
I,am subscriber to sky world but I,am currently switching between my subscription card and my f.t.v. card in same digibox.
Is it safe to connect phone line?
Have sky anyway of knowing I,am doing this?

Switch by all means, but don't plug in the phone line is the general concensus I think.

    Unplug phone line.

go to sky news (or any FTA channel).

    power off the box

    swap cards

    power back on.

do not plug in the phone line while using UK card.
they can catch you through the bounceback
and will disable your card (or so I am told).

If you press interactive on Sky News,
    wait till it loads
    Swap cards
Then "backup" out it will change EPG to the UK card. This also works to get UK epg with a dummy card (or upside down ROI card) for BBC3/4 Cbeebies, ITV1, BBC radio etc on the EPG.

Thank you for that, But can anyone tell me would it be ok to switch back to irish card & re-insert phone line for ordering box office movies etc & then switching back F.T.V. card & removing phone line & vice versa.

Yes, that'll be fine, but it is essential to have the phoneline out with the FTV card in

Sky News is a bad FTA channel to chose as its not the same on the UK and IE EPGs. Take ITV3/ITV4 or similar (119) and do the swap on that, the box will come back up a little quicker.
