Moving into my place and I would like to use the Sky Digital connection via my computer (dont have a spare TV yet but do have a 24" Widescreen FP :D )

Is this possible and secondly what type of tuner card is recommended.. I was looking at a Terratec model as I have one of their sound cards in my machine already

    thanks

Sky are very cagey about their encryption, so you can't get an external CAM, i.e. you have to use their box to decrypt channels. However, you can get the free channels on Astra on any DVB-S card. These are pretty cheap now - you can get the B2C2 cards for less than €40 if you search around.

What might be a better solution is to get an analogue card, and pipe what's being shown on the Digibox to your PC. Hauppauge do good cheap cards.

Of course, you can do both: you can get dual (DVB + analogue) tuners in PCMCIA format, so I presume you can get them for PCI too.
