Just thought the eircom soccer heads would be interested to hear that Roddy has landed himself a new job.

Manager of St Joseph's O'Connell Boys from Fairview. I believe they play in Division 6 of the Dublin GAA leagues (a higher standard than it sounds :D ). His first step on the way to becoming Dublin manager no doubt ;)

I have played against them a few times, would love to play them with Roddy in charge. Last time I played them I was marking Richie Foran who was home for the summer.

The funniest of Roddy’s many classic utterances in the brilliant RTE documentary ‘The Rod Squad’ is one of his last in the show when he says.
‘I want to manage my country, and Celtic, and some day I will’
However if you play the tape backward you hear is saying, ‘I want to manage the Dubs, and I will’

    Strange days indeed

I'm suprised the spanners in the FAI didn't give that plonker the International job!

Thank **** for that, the further away from pats the better. Now i hope he wins the Jesse maguire cup or whatever for the next 11 seasdons in a row. The longer he stays away from football the better.

Sorry for asking if its general knowlege but why did he get suspended(kicked out) from rovers..other than for them being crap??

his unprofesional conduct towards the team (training, scouting, comments, unsettling remarks), and his contribution to their "crap" preformances (playing strickers at right back etc.) to name but a few. there was a full investigation into his position as manager and the 400 club felt it was worth risking €60k to remove him
