    Hey people
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but what the hey,

Is anyone having trouble sending emails from your gmail account?
Whenever I try it says oops... the system was unable to perform your operation. Please try again in a few seconds.
Well I've been trying for days and have had no luck. Anybody got any idea why this might be happening or should i just set up a new email and email gmail from there?

    Cheers
    Luke

no idea what could be the problem. it is working fine for me. the help feature in google suggests clearing your cache and cookies then try it again after that.

I cant even access the gmail front page, or sites like Hotmail, AIB internet banking, o2 net texts etc.

Depends what browser you have, for Firefox...

Tools->Options->Privacy->Cache and then Clear Cache Now.

Internet Explorer.....click Tools->Internet Options->Delete Files and Delete Cookies

I've spent days trying to figure this one out and it's killing me as i'm unable to send mails unless I use the basic HTML view and even then the mails need to remain short. Have logged a few complaints with Google but no reponse.
The whole clearing the cache thing seems to be the solution of choice but if it doesn't work for you, like it didn't for me, then you're on your own.
Have read in other places that VPN updates may be causing the issue.
I'm amazed by the ammount of people who have this issue and the lack of response, seriously need to set up a new mail account sadly, really liked Gmail when it worked.

this happen on home pc? using broadband router?

It's happening at work. All our machines are behind a VPN Router (IBB broadband so god knows it could could be something to do with them) so that may be the issue. Changing to another mail group anyway. Have tried contacting google but it's impossible.

try chaging the MTU on router to 1460 instead of 1500. Worked for me.

I'm still using my Gmail account but I find that every so often there are problems sending or even getting into the account, not very often but all the same...

I did have to do without it for over a week at one point so I used my hotmail as a backup, I suggest always having more than one account active and then trying to Pop your mail to that account, it sometimes works, don't know why?

I got this yesterday... Was fine again after about 30 mins. Figured it was just a small prob with gmail itself, as its working fine now and I never have any probs with gmail
