Taking piercings out

I was just wondering if people had thought about when they would take their piercings out, and if any marks/holes would bother them? It's my main issue with piercings, maybe I'm weird but everytime I want something done I think about how it will look when I take it out.

I really want my tragus done right now but I *know* I very likely won't want it after about 4-5 years (I'm 20 now) so I'm reluctant to do it. I really want 3 holes in each lobe as well but the holes never really close up, so the marks will be there forever. I'm torn between thinking about the future and just going for it. The look of piercings with no jewellery in kind of bothers me for some reason, is it just me? Another thing is a work issue, even tragus piercings which aren't extreme are frowned upon in many places.

I know some people who have had piercings and you'd never notice, and others with huge holes, is it just luck whether it closes up or not? My earring holes, 2 in each ear, are very noticeable without earrings in so I take it as a bad sign lol.

If it's bothering you so much I don't think you should get it done. My face is pretty scarred from piercings especially the bridge of my nose because i've had that done twice and no hair covers it. It just looks like two purple dots that's very noticable but it doesn't bother me.

i agree, if its bothering you dont do it cuz its unavoidable. i have my tragus done, noone is bothered by it and i work in social care. if they are you can just leave ur hair down newayz..

never thought about when Id take my piercings out, nope. they're there for the forseeable future anyways...might have to get my wrist adjusted abit soon, but other then that, everythings staying the way it is.And if they do come out, scars dont really bother me anyway.

If you'll think it bothers you, then dont do it, I guess.

i have had my lip done twice, and i will have two marks under my mouth if i ever take them out. but i figure i'll be able to show them to my kids in years to come and say "ha! you think your a rebel! when i was your age i have facial piercings and pink hair!! id like to see you beat that!!"

i am quietly confident that that will be the end of that and my children will be so in awe of my past coolness that they wont get their entire face tattooed the minute they have saved up enough pocket money JUST TO SPITE ME.

The healing process is different with everyone. I've had my earlobes pierced for about 13 years and the holes will close up within a month and are pretty unnoticeable. The hole in my tongue is pretty unnoticeable when I take the bar out and that hole can stay open for over a week without the bar... I personally don't think anyone will ever get close enough to my tragus to notice that I had it pierced (after/if I take it out).. but if you're worried then don't get it done!
