    Audacity - cuts bits out of MP3s, copy and paste, that sort of thing, just tell it where your local MP3 Lame encoder is (search for lame_enc.dll and point to that/copy it to Audacity folder)

    MPG/WMV/AVI to MP3?!
    That would be video to audio you realise...
    Don't know of any straight converters, but maybe a capture application.

    virtualdub will pull the audio from video files.
