Passport Question

    I am looking to apply for a passport?I am 18 in April. i was wonderin can in send off for a standard passport now or do i have to apply for a minor one for under 18s.It just seems like waste to get a minor one now when i am 18 in April?I also need some sort of i.d. for my 18th birthday to go out?

    Yup you can get a normal passport now. Just apply the usual way.

    being under 18 you can apply for a 5 year passport and it will cost you 25 euro. also you will need a parent/guardian to go with to sign the forms. over 18 you can get a 10 year passport and it will cost 75 euro. i turned 18 in december and never got around to getting it done (that's how i know all this!). imo it would be worth your while to get the 5 year one now. you can use it as id until you get an age card (which can take months) or driver's license.
