Recover deleted files from computer

    ok my pc had a virus and i restored the whole system to default settings before backing up some pictures i wanted. anyone any help on recovering these?? thanks

    do you mean you reformatted? if you did you probably won't get the files back. if you just deleted the files and need to undelete them, look at this thread posted earlier today.

    Was it a quick format or a full format - if its the quick format, hope is not lost!

    sucess rate depends on a lot of things, including the amount of free space on the partition when you formatted.

    You need software to scan for possible remnants of filesystems, GetDataBack is a good one.

    If that doesnt work, I offer my services for nominal fee ;)

    Whatever you do, do not write anything more onto the HD, or boot iit for that matter.

    You will have to mount the drive in another computer for ANY chance of recovery

    ok i used getbackdata to scan the drive and i can recover the files i deleted BUT it requires you to buy the software. is there any software i can download for free that does this?? thanks
