Please help-dvd ripping

    i want to rip dvds onto my pc and watch them on WMP or another similar program

    what program can i get that will do this

    DVD Shrink to copy them onto your comp (google it)
    You'll need a DVD to DivX(or other format) Converter
    Search for one on www.download.com

    i have dvd shrink 3.1 on the comp
    i have a divX player

    how do i get a dvd movie to a video file using these?

    Have you used DVD Shrink to backup a DVD before?
    If not its pretty easy - Just click open disc, choose the disc you want, After it analyzes it, click on backup!, choose your hard drive folder & bob's your uncle.
    This will leave you with a folder of DVD files (It'll be pretty big)
    After that you'll need to get another program to convert it to DivX/Xvid/mpeg etc.
    I don't know of any good ones myself

    This one is free & looks OK.
    You might need to get a codec to be able to play it in Win media player.
    Oh and the latest version of DVD Shrink is 3.2

    IMToo DVD ripper is what you're looking for.

    I use it all the time so if you download it and need help, ill help ya..
    It is easy enough to use, just have to set the right bitrate, size etc and you're away..
