My girlfriend has bought designer wellies. Coloured, floral ones. She thinks they are hip and fashionable. I think they are crap. She has worn them with me in town and for walks. I haven't got the courage to tell her how I really feel about them. Any advice? Or am I out of step with this year's footwear fashion?;)

Ha ha...he's right, give that a shot!

I've got pink leopard print ones and they rock  But I only wear them on the farm when I go home and for work experience (Vets). I would never in a million years go in to town wearing them! They got an outing to Oxegen last year too but everyone was wearing them because it was raining so it was no big deal.

I can see why she loves them but wearing them in to town? No, no, no!

Well, if you want her to remove the wellies, she'll have to have something else to put her feet in so I suggest that you buy her a pair of shoes/boots that you find acceptable and then she'll wear them to please you.

    Both of you benefit:
    - you don't have to be seen with a woman who walks around town in hideous wellies that should be confined to a farmyard

    - she gets a new pair of shoes as a 'loving present' from her 'loving boyfriend

Actually, you might do better off, because you'll get brownie points for being such a loving boyfriend as to buy her shoes; said points may be redeemable in the future for what you wish*

Yes, you're out of step, such wellies are very much the hip thing currently, taken over from those ghastly uggs. But fret not, just as the sheep have roused up and realised just how stupid uggs looked, they'll just as quickly come to reguard wellies in the same sense. Give it a month. Unfortunately, with any trend follower, there's always the chance that something just as bad, or worse, will be the next trend. Be thee forewarned.
