Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi folks,

I have a .com address and hosting however its not great cause my website design skills are crap, and I dont really have the time at this point to study it, I would like to know what is the best fully customiseable blogging system online, I would like the ability to ad, photos text and new pages.

Basically what I need is a blog templete, the text/content of my site I know what I want but its layout I have trouble with,

The website is totally non-profit, so I want minimum expedendature, if any at all.

Dont want random pop-ups either, lol, i dont ask for a lot do I?

if your hosting arrangement has php support and a mysql database (you'll need to check with them), I'd recommend installing
wordpress. It's completely free and can be customised anyway you want. - if you are worried about making it look good, you can download really good custom themes for it. it has a 5 minute install as well, with very little tech knowledge required to get it going.

Check out a site like this: http://davesrants.com/ (nothing to do with me by the way)

that's a site running wordpress with a theme on it called 'k2.'

All that said, there are many other options.

There's loads of stuff written about this, do a google search for blog platforms.

For my blog at http://niallok.com/blog , I just used the boards.ie blog here and wrote an ASP function that uses the MSXML3 component to remotely include a chunk of code from an external web page (the boards blog) on my page.

    Er... simple ;)

Wordpress is quite easy to customise and you can choose from an ever-growing selection of templates.

Did you ever set up some caching arrangement, in the end?
