I put this here cos i'm hoping to get something that's worth the money it's gonna cost me.

I have 300 to spend but i'll consider more if its worth it.

I have this one Myself and can't fault it, very clear from a wide angle and
8ms response time is good if you are using your PC for Gaming.. Almost have it a year now and no dead pixles and absolutly no problems......:D

My Concern of buying LCD Monitors from online retailers like Komplett & Amazon, is what happens if you get a dead pixel right in the centre of the screen, will they replace them for you (I know there are a certain amount of dead pixels allowed), I think you have a better chance of getting a replacement from a bricks and morter retailer.

Anyone got any opinions or experiences on this?

    Snake ;)

Komplett almost certainly will. Not sure about Amazon though.

Ask on the Komplett forum if unsure - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=242

Samsung seem to be the kings when it comes to LCDs, but for 300 I don't think you'll get a decent one with DVI. The spec of that Ilyama one looks alright

Thanks guys. I'm thinking of the Syncmaster 913N w/ Pivot atm. (€349)

The Syncmaster 940B w/ Pivot & Height Adj. looks great too, but no reviews for it... If anyone has anything good to say about it I'll save a little more and get it for €379.

I got two Samsung 930BF from Komplett. Amazing screen and has 4ms response. It is also DVI & VGA. At 379, its a bit above your budget, but I definately recommend considering it. I have also used the 8ms cousin of it, the 913 and I can say that it is also a very good screen.

got recommended it by someone on this forum about 2 weeks back, nice screen, i play xbox games @ 480p and 720p on it. Have you got an xbox 360? as all games are 16:9(widescreen) and are 720p, would be awesome.

I've a Dell 19" Ultra Sharp. It's is excellent but it would probably set you back €400, maybe €350 with the current sale.

Yep...I got a monitor from Pixmania, an IIyama E431S. Lovely monitor, with DVI etc. It has a "stuck" pixel right in the centre. It was completely my fault as I dropped the monitor when I was building the PC :(

Anyway, I knew I couldn't return it as it was my fault, but reading up about it reveals that you have to have a certain number of these pixels to get a replacement (think it was 8 for my monitor). So if you get a monitor with just one you're literally "stuck" with it (chortle)

I managed to massage the stuck pixel out in the end, it only comes back occasionally. Pro Tip: Press areas other then where the pixel is. Pressing the bottom-left corner of my screen makes the pixel in the centre vanish.

Its highly unlikely that caused it. Its usually due to the manufacturing process.

I have the 19" Acer and it is a super screen for the price, can't go wrong, plain and simple as that 10/10. Best value screen on the planet at the moment IMHO.
