Preparing for a trip which will cover a few S.E.Asian countries. Someone told me that gold was cheap out there. I just wondered if anyone had ever bought and brought back. How much cheaper is it than here?

My Auntie always brought back from Malaysia 23 carat gold that was supposedly very cheap for what it was. Don't know how cheap, but it seemed quite affordable cos she'd always bring something for everyone.

i bought a 23 carat thin gold chain with cross (including jesus), for around 90 euro in Bangkok last year
