    Yup, Microsoft did it again,
No battery back up for the feckin' clock!
Everytime I have plugged it out I have to RESET THE BLOODY FECKIN' CLOCK!
I remember the various excuses vaguely last time, that it was some cost issue, but why oh why couldn't they fix it for this new spangly console, I mean my PS2 remembers the time and date while unplugged, my Gamecube remembers the time and date too.

The number of time I have loaded the wrong save game in Quake 4 cos of this, the last save is reckoned by the date, perhaps if I had a broadband connection it would automatically update the time and date from there, but what about the rest of us?

Anyway thats it really, no wait there is one other thing,

Everyime I use the special, limited edition, groovy looking standing up, media remote, it changes the channel on my Sony TV set.
Is this a deliberate slight on thoe who bought a telly from the auld enemy?
Do they not know how common Sony tellys are?
Who can I dragout and beat for this foul up, or is there a fix out there somewhere?

There, now thats all out I feel much, much better.

my 360 never forgets the time, i plug it out every night, and its always fine regardless if im signed in to live, or not.

I used to plug mine out because I was paranoid about the overheating power supply stories from the US(now I just leave it in all the time...) and I never noticed the clock resetting. Mine is always connected to my network though so it might get it from that I've no idea.

my 360 is disconnected, and reconnected to power and network regularly, and never once has it asked me for time/date or whatever.

i have to reset the time on mine as well when its plugged out. when playing condemned, the saves go by time as well and i loaded the wrong game save loads of times! very annoying.

My old Xbox does this, but I posted on Eurogamer about this and they said it remembers? did u have a HD or memcard in it? maybe if u leave it in?

Cant believe would drop the ball on this two consoles in a row!!!

Was checking through my options and it says it does link with xbox live to get the time. Although I think you'd be mad to buy a 360 and not have it online, I do see how it'd be annoying for those that don't.

I've had to set the clock on mine two or three times as well.

I do tend too leave it powered off for over a week or more at a time as I don't have a huge amount of time to play with the thing.

never had to set the clock on mine (apart from the first time) & i very rarely connect to live, & unplug it most of the time

You don't need to connect to live, its 'internet aware' so will pick the time from a timeserver, similar to the xbox1

You must of got a supercallifrigalistic edition of a 360! Mine resets all the time when I remove the power to bring it round my mates houses, it puts the time back when I reconnect it to Live alright.......

I don't think it asks you to put the time in again. I keep mine unplugged when it's not in use and I noticed that the dates and times on my game saves are all wrong. I have the wireless network adapter coming in soon so that should keep it on the net everytime I turn it on.

Yeah, had same problem, if not connected to net and plugged out, the clock would reset. Took me a good while to figure out where all my Quake 4 saves were gone..

Yup, its a pain in the butt, i was working nights and could bring my machine in with me each evening and get an hour or two of gaming in but every time I switched on I had to reset the clock and date, as for being mad to own a 360 and have no broadband connection, I like most of the population of this country have no access to broadband, despite living 7 miles or so from Dublin city centre.
Ah well, good thing the games are good, I will forgive MS this time, hopefully the next machine, Xbox 720 will fix this flaw, check back at this thread sometime in 2009!

my 360 is disconnected from power everynight, and on numerious occasions i have played games without being connected to live, and with any network activity being received to the machine, and never have i had to fix the time, and regards the qauke4 saves, that has never happened either?

it doesnt forget the time and you dont have to set the time if you are on xbox live. i know i didnt have to set it anyway.

im always having to fix the time. the amount of times i went to check the time while playing to find its 12:00. never knew what was wrong. well at least now i know what the problem is. thanks.

dont know how many times i need to stress this, my 360 has NEVER asked me to fix the time, nor has the time ever been wrong, and i disconnect power, unplug, and am not connected to live on a regular basis.

You know, you really dont have to repeat yourself 4 times on the same page.

Does the Xbox360 use NTP to update its clock? Wouldnt matter if you where connected to Live or not, just once your Xbox is connected to your home network which has a gateway to the internet.
btw, Ive no idea if they update the clock this way
