effective big stack play?

just like to hear different ways you all think is the most effective big stack play.
for example my self, when big stacked i use to get very aggro, raise more flops with trash in position, follow that with a big bet on the flop if i smelled weakness and try to take down the pot.
the problem with this was i over did it,eventually the better players would see the pattern and check raise they good hands to me.
even though it was effective in collecting smallish pots,it would end up costing a big pot with the extra level of aggression involved.
i kinda changed that,to a more selectable hand range ,anything with potential ,SC,suited one gappers,PP and anything that i thought considering the table conditions i considered playable.it resulted to a more passive pre flop play but a much more aggro post flop.
i noticed that people are much more inclined to let an unraised pot go to a small bet from the big stack ,than if you had raised it.
i would still obviously raise my good hands ,and try to mix it up but i was just wondering what others would think is an effective move to have for big stack play?
