    I'd take the second option PC4000 if you'll be overclocking - they'll run quicker out of the box.

    Good RAM. Very expensive though.

    It's not that expensive considering the cheapest gig would be about €100 pc3200 and this is 2gigs. Would there be any advantage to 4*512mb sticks over 2*1024? Both running dual channel?

    Advantage if you ever want 4 gigs you wont have to get rid of ram to make room. If I could I'd always buy as big denomination as I could to take up less room and save hassle when adding more.
