Hi all, just been made redundant and am thinking of going for a job in a pharamceutical place in Bray - I'm just wondering if anyone works in such a place and what is it like?? Go for it or not??

    Thanks!!

Is it Takeda? What type of job do you want to do there? I would say as a whole the big companies would be good employers.

To be honest I don't know the company yet - through an agency....just wondering what it would be like as a job.... The description is production operative working in a pharmaceutical environment

I worked in an IT department in for a major multi-national pharamceutical company a while back. In general it was very good although there was a lot of paper work and procedures to everything you do. The money was quiet good and the work is fairly stable. I would say go for it! Best of luck

Thanks for the replies folks... now know that this job is in Takeda...Does anyone know what the job entails or what questions I may be asked at the interview? Any info would be a great help.

    Thanks again

You would be working in the production area and be responsible for charges and offloads etc. Basically moving the process through steps. I don't know Takeda specifically but I would imagine they would be highly automated. So a lot of it is watching a screen as vessels fill and pressing buttons to move it on. A good deal of manual labour is usually required too though even with the automation. Cleaning being a good example because there tends to be a lot needed ;) . I think operators in most companies have a responsiblity for sampling too. Documentation is highly important too due to the industry being so highly regulated.

As for the interview I would recommend having a look on the web to see what they do and try and remember a few product names. That always looks good. Stress that you are a team player - assuming of course you are :D .

    Best of luck.

Thanks homah_7ft!! Have been on the web-site building up some knowledge already...Think this job will suit me but am slightly nervous of the whole interview process as I've been in this present job for 7 years - feeling a bit rusty!! Hopefully will work out for me - thanks again for your help...will probably be back looking for more!!
