PC upgrade for Autocad use

Ok, firstly, I'm a PC build noob, first post in this forum I think. What I want to do is build a new system (possibly using the barebones from the old PC) that can handle Autocad 2006 well (and maybe a little CSS too :) )

So I've tried to figure out what I need, and now that I have an idea, my head is being melted with trying to figure out the differences between motherboards, memory etc. I've now spent hours on Komplett and am no closer to choosing anything. So please, can someone make up my mind for me?

From a bit of googling around, it's apparant Autocad works best on dual core systems, with lots of fast memory. Graphics cards don't seem to matter too much unless you want to get into the very high resolution stuff, which I don't - I've a regular 19" CRT monitor.

Roughly what I think I need is:

    AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
    2GB of fast memory
PCI-Express card with 256mb - frame rate etc not important
    200GB drive
Motherboard to host the above, and with the ability to upgrade to 4GB RAM if needed

Can somebody please make some suggestions for me? I'm trying to keep this side of €1000 if possible. Thanks a mil.

    The noob question corner:

Why are some motherboards 5 times pricier than others? They all seem very similar to me, but obviously aren't - is there any reason I need an expensive one?
What's the story with power supplies? How do you work out how much power is needed by the system?
I've been looking at Komplett, but is elsewhere cheaper? Don't mind buying the various bits from different stores if needs be.

    Thanks a mil, guys!

    Robbie
