sony vaio issues

ok got a sony laptop
vgnfs315m
love it but............

few problems
1.one when i right click on my comp and go to properties i see the processor recognised at 1.73ghz but running at 795mhz! i read this thing b4 about mobile cpu s only running at the speed they need to but this irritates me,
can i change just to run as full all the time????
the bios is really limited on this there only a handful of options none cpu orientated!

2.when looking on the internet for a memory upgrade (512)i find a mathch for this laptop but the site never lists the spec, now i got a pc3200ddr2sdram in here so i want to be that speed too but how do i know?

3.how in the hell of do you wipe off the smudges on this xblack lcd screen?

nvidia 6400 go
80 gig hdd

OK I have one of thesen too and their brilliant arent the so.. lets see!!

1. No because your laptop would melt and be really bad for the processor! And why would ya want it?

1. get your point about processor just get annoyed when multi tasking and the thing is still running at 795

2.memory config won't show me the exact spec ie ram speed, for e.g it could be pc 2700 which would slow down the other ram if i were to use it

3. i wipe but nothing, slightly damp still nothing ahhhhh

whats with the bios , is there an upgrade

Nope sony version.
1. It not running at 700when u multitask itll be running full speed then!!
2. How come u need to know the mem speed?
3. Yup so annoying

Mem is pc3200 DDR2 BTW.

the mem speed i s in the spec book
btw i got this going a lot quicker by following some tips from a pc mag which rec the lappie

1. some of the bundled software was running(as processes) even when not in use or in the satrt menu so i removed them(photoimpression et al)

2. manually set the paging file to 1024-1024

Heh yeah first thing i did was wipe it and put new ver of xp pro on it and crank it up to a gig o ram.

i heard microsoft have classed some sony software thing as malware...mad!

Download and use Notebook Hardware Control. it's very handy and allows you to underclock/overclock your processor and graphics card (ATI only).
It will allow you to set the CPU to full speed all the time, although I don't advise it.
