I'm in Cork on Thursday night and was thinking of heading into the Macau. I'm struggling to find any info anywhere on their tournaments schedule, so maybe one of you guys from the Peoples Republic could enlighten me?

Also, whats the story with membership? Is it the usual passport/driving license required?

    Cheers.

Made a trip down there last year before Lim got a card room for a €20 re-buy tourney.
They have a nice set-up. They weren't too worried about ID. We didnt even have to register as members to play! TD just said: "eh, 20 quid in there lads and I'll put ye on the list". :)
But i'd bring a photo ID all the same just in case.

Lenny, the main tourney tomorrow is the so-called student freeroll. Free to enter, a tenner for each rebuy, unlimited rebuys in the first hour. It's a pure lottery, to be honest, but it depends on what you want yourself. Outside of that, there's always the 3 and 4 card poker tables, and usually a cash game starts up with an hour or 2 of the tourney for those players who have been knocked out. However, I haven't done the freeroll in a long long time, so i don't know how many runners you'd get for the cash game.

Your first few times in, you'll just need to sign in as a guest and you shouldn't have any hassle. They like regulars to sign up as free members.

Oh, and they frown on drinking - don't turn up drunk or you may not get in.

Thanks... I'm assuming that the freeroll is for tickets into a bigger game, so that's why I'm not too keen (although I suppose I could sell the ticket). And regarding cash games, I haven't any sort of a bankroll this year yet for even a 1/2 game, so that's out too, unfortunately.

If I remember correctly (it's been a while), the top prize is a tournament voucher, but it's really just cash, so anyone down there would buy it from you for face value (or less, knowing the cute cork hoors who frequent there :D)
