Kieran fallon done it when he was an apprentice, and i believe johnny murtagh done it in the summer.

EDIT: correction fallon pulled another jockey off a horse, not too sure about murtagh, i was told he did it but i couldnt be sure.

In my experience of jockeys, a lot of them are trouble makers. I am surprised it doesnt happen more often but it does behind the scenes. I know its a bit of a generalisation but not unfounded.

I'M pretty sure Himself and Pat Smullen came to blows after a "racing incident" at Leopardstown which left Johnny with a 7 day holiday.

    More on the OP story
Guthrie cops 17 meeting suspension after Bairnsdale Cup

Apprentice Michael Guthrie has received a 17 meeting suspension for an incident on the home turn in the 2006 Bairnsdale Cup, following an adjourned inquiry on Wednesday.

Guthrie was suspended for careless riding in that he allowed his horse (I Do Blue) to shift out and make Contact with Danny Adam's mount (Larson) while rounding the home turn.

Guthrie will commence his suspension from Midnight Wednesday the 11th of Jan until Midnight Friday the 27th of January.

Danny Adam also received a Severe reprimand for allowing his mount to shift in around the 200 metre mark when not clear of I Do Blue.

The inquiry into Adam punching Guthrie and hitting him with the whip after the race is continuing but has been closed to the media.
Jockey Danny Adam will face a steward's inquiry on Wednesday after a fight with fellow hoop Michael Guthrie following the running of the Bairnsdale Cup in Victoria.

Adam threw a punch at Guthrie as the horses were pulling up, after there was interference between the pairs' mounts in the race, before striking him with his whip.

The two were involved in an incident during the Cup where Guthrie believed his horse I Do Blue had suffered interference caused by Adam's mount Larson (4th), and subsequently lodged a protest.

Stewards dismissed the objection though, deeming that the interference was not of a serious nature.

Guthrie is not fazed by the clash, and plays the violent incident down as nothing more than frustration over an everyday occurrence on Adam's part.

"I usually get along well with him (Adam), and what happened around the home corner – it's racing, it happens every day," Guthrie told ABC Sport.

"I did give a bit of cheek coming across the line, I feel a bit sorry for him, because he's not usually like that and he's going to cop a harsh penalty for it."
