    from science faculty in UCC:
    70+ is a 1H - First class honours
    62-69 2H1 - second class honours
    55-61 2H2 - second class hounours
    50-54 3H - third class honours
    40-49 pass
    <40 fail.

I just checked and it varies within UCC by faculty, and even possibly within
the faculty. You'd want to check with your college.

How many years are taken into account to calculate your degree grade?

    That varies hugely.
When I did Computer Science the final grade was
was 20% from second year, 20% from third year and the rest from final year.

You'd want to check that with your college/faculty.

I just meant in your course, i know mine. I am lucky as i am doing a 1 year add on degree so if i get a 70% average i get a 1.1 which is great.
