    Hi,

We have a windows 2000 server that runs loads of com objects for dynamic websites. We now have a new windows 2003 server and i am trying to install one of the COM dll's but am getting the following error:

the component DLL's self-registration routine failed.

I tried registering it with regserv32.exe but it doesnt work.

Does anyone have any ideas what might be happening?

    Thanks

the security model for COM and IIS is different on Win 2003 servers plus the default exeuction rights are also different. I suggest you read up on this on the ms web site.
Moving from 2000->20003 is a more involved than moving from NT ->2000

I've only worked with .Net on 2003 but on 2000 you had to register COM+ dlls through component services? regsvr32.exe never worked with COM+.
