bin is an image, you should be able to extract it using winrar, force winrar to open it, or mount it as an image with daemon tools.

ok i'll try that but before i posted i went into the prop of the file and ask xp to open the file with media player as it was the only video player thats on my system but now its changed all bin files to that program and when i tryed to get winrar to open it, it keeps trying to play it in the windows player

how do i get it the bin files paired back with the orginal program thats suspose to open it with?????

In windows explorer, Go to Tools -> Folder Options
Select the File Types tab, select the BIN extension and click Delete.

Just install Alcohol or Daemon tools and mount....

btw - to change extensions back, right click on file, properties, and change default program :)

vlc plays bin files. for each .bin file, there's a .cue file right?

if you right-click on the file, there should be an "open with" option. or you can set vlc to be the default player

    No.

Daemon tools to open it. Or use Nero to burn it to CD or DVD (depending on the type of file). bin is short for binary. It's a file full of raw data - it's usually a CD "image", literally as if you peeled off all of the data of some storage device, in sequence as it appears on the device. There's not really any program that will "open" a bin file, what they'll do is take the raw data and interpret it into what it's supposed to be.
