    Presuming that you don't have tiny storage space, what is your bit rate of choice and why?

    192kbps ripped using LAME.

    As I have said before unless I was imagining things there was a definite difference between the same track ripped using LAME and Windows Media Player.

    I don't understand why people don't use variable bit rate.
    You get...

    a/ Higher quality than the chosen bit rate
    b/ Smaller file size
    c/ All players play them...

    okay i thought VBR had lower quality than the chosen bit rate not higher!!!
    i usually use 128 becuase i jsut presumed it was CD quality!!

    regarding LAME what the hells that???

    192. I used to use EAC with Lame, but I got lazy and just used the Creative software after awhile.

    Personally I use 192Kbps and not VBR because I want the whole track to be recorded at the same quality setting. *shrug*
