Hi there, I updated McAfee virusscan and spamkiller on my laptop this morning and ever since, various programs, most notably Bearshare, refuse to open for more than a couple of seconds. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to reverse this, has McAfee introduced new settings to my system that prevent certain programs from opening? Thanks

You should be able to go into macafee and get it to allow acess to the programs you want. I'd need macafee in front of me to remember how to do it.

I've no idea what the problem is, or why the computer decided to do this. I've granted full online access to the programs that were closing down abruptly but they still do so, and the error only started to occur when I downloaded updates for McAfee this morning?

Is it definately Mcafee causing the prob? Have you tried to temp disable mcafee and run the progs.

Lots of the files on the gnuttella network are virus infected, maybe thats got something to do with your problems. have you tried a different method of sharing files?
