IPCOP and Clearwire

    Hi all,

I'm dabbling in the field of IPCOP at the moment but can't seem to get it working. I have it setup for Green, Blue, Orange and Red.

At the moment I have Clearwire plugged into Red and one computer plugged into Green for admin and testing.

I have a static IP from Clearire and they have configured their end to see the MAC of my Red card.

I am not using Blue or Orange at the moment, but will be soon.

Now, from my Green computer, I can surf to IPCOP's admin webpage and change configs etc, however, I do not have internet access. Neither on my green computer of the IPCOP machine. Cannot ping sites by name or ip. And on the IPCOP machine, I cannot successfully click "Refresh update List". I just get a red boarder and an error saying that it can't download the updates.

    Is there anything I'm missing?

I'm not familiar with Clearwire, do they provide a modem/router/TA?

Clearwire just supply the "radio". It's a wireless solution over WiMax.
I do have an ATA router [Linksys] but not using that at the moment. I hope to add it into the equation later for my VoIP [with other networking disabled] but let's keep it simple fr the moment.

Clearwire give me a static IP address by tieing their radio [ethernet] to the MAC address of my Red card. I gave them the Mac address earlier today. I'm sure they made the change as my old Linksys now doesn't work with the radio.

I have Clearwire connected to my Red at the moment. Just think of it as an ethernet connection.

But I have no connectivity. I have the red card configured with the same ip, dns and gateway as my linksys. Can't fathom what is going on, unless CW entered the wrong MAC, but we did verify the MAC a few times before hanging up.

I guess what I'm looking for is, does IPCOP "just work" afrer the Red and Green is configured. It may just be something on the CW side.

Yes, it should. I'veset it up several times with different providers and it has always just worked, epecially when using a wireless provider, since as you know, with the radio provided the red interface just uses a fixed IP so there is no special config.

Cheers for that, Wiz. I've had to change back to my Linksys for the moment as I have a lot to do. I'll try it again this weekend.

Post here or PM me if you need help, but it should be fairly straightforward.

OK, It's ahassle testing this with Clearwire as I have to ring them up to change MAC addresses each time I want to test and each time I want to go back to work.

I'm now testing on my BT connection but still having issues.

BT DSL ZyXel plugged into RED. Laptop still plugged into Green.

Now, I immediatley see a problem. Both BT modem and IPCOP are DHCP Servers. I don't want the BT modem to be DHCP server anymore so I turned DHCP off on that.

Now, with DHCP off on BT and on in IPCOP I set a static address 192.168.1.2, and DNS and Gateway to 192.168.1.1
I even tried the DNS settings that WERE in the DSL box of 192.111.39.1/4
I still can't connect to the internet.

Just for laughs, I leave both of them as DHCP. IPCOP gets it's IP address from ZyXel but that's as far as it goes. No internet connectivity.
I can't even ping the DSL router.

I am by no means a technophobe but this has me baffeled. I'm sure the solution is staring me in the face but I'm too tired to see it.
