    Hi
i am in contract with ntl digital, but want to get rid asap, the picture and sound are not near as good as sky digital ( in my area anyway) Im on Ntl digiatal mmds. They tell me in Ntl it wil cost E100 to disconnect, anybody got a way around this??
Im not happy with the price of ntl either 33e p/m for crappy picture and sound. Similar package on sky is 21.50 p/m.
    Any help, :)

Have you complained to NTL about the picture and sound quality ?
Maybe argue that by not providing a proper picture and sound, that NTL have breeched their contract.

    regards,
    Owen

That is close to extortion charging for disconnect, unless you have had it for less than minimum contract time!

Actually it is a better package for 22 Euro on Sky as it costs nothing to disconnect (you do have to contract for minimum of a year), You own all the gear from when it is deliverd and if you do cancel you have still about 20 to 30 decent TV and 70 radio, free.

If you've accepted the service for 6 months, then getting out of your contract by saying the quality of service is unacceptable probably won't wash.

You do have to pay to get out. If the 100 Euro is less cost than the charge for next six months and service is poor and you want out, then chalk it up to experience. Else cancel later. But get Sky now and unless dish is installed badly it will still be perfect when 12 months is up and you can have a load of great channels free.

Thank God for that! We will also be getting rid of NTL shortly and I didn't like the sound of that fee. We are well past 12 months, so it should be fine.
