Just wondering if I will need to get some. I'm generally quite careful with the touchscreen and its not cratched yet, but havent got games that use it excessively. Should I get some protectors, or listen to Nintendo and go without. Any thoughts would be great:)

Even rough use of the touch screen shouldn't result in scratches, once you're using the stylus and not a pen :D

Just be careful with the screen generally, don't leave it open when you don't need to and don't press down really hard on it all the time, if you need to do that to get it working then it's already broken!

I was intending to get one when I got a DS, but the shop was out of stock, so I held off, and then just never got round to it... Now it's been over half a year of games like warioware and it's still fine. I'm happy doing without.

Apparently rainbow Kirby has scratched her screen pretty badly playing some game or other.

I have the screen protector on, surely it can only help?

I've had my DS since they launched in the US and the screen is just fine despite lots of use.

I don't see any need for a protector for me anyway... although I hope my DS doesn't get pregnant...

I hope mine does. Imagine all the little DS Micros running about.

I've seen people try trade in DSes with scratches on the screen that look like they were made with knives or something. Why would anyone be so stupid as to use anything damaging like that? They definitely were made with something sharp. As long as you use the stylus it should be fine.

I'd say it would be easy enough to do damage if you wanted to, just go easy with the thing.

That would be Meteos... My screen has a light pattern of vertical lines from playing Meteos pretty much solidly for 2 months.

Meteos is so very addictive. I see it flicking before my eyes as I watch TV. it's like Tetris all over again.

After zoning out on that game before going to bed i wasn't able to sleep because of the same reason. Won't play it before bed now.

I just noticed those Meteos scratches on my screen. Can only be seen at the right angle under a light.

Zookeeper gave me that the other day, was playing it on the train into work, arrive at the stop and I look up. And all of a sudden everyone has big square animal heads with a few of them looking very angry.

Even more weird was when resident evil gave me that. Worst trip to the 24hr. ever.
