Ok, decided to get away from this **** hole for a few months at the end of the year. Looking to go to australia for a few months and stopping off at a few places there and back..

Some places i want to go - Hong Kong, Tokyo, Thailand, Bali, New York, San Francisco.......

    So, fill in the spaces .. Dublin > ...... > ........ > .........>........ etc.

Sydney should be in the middle somewhere, and i plan on staying there a few months, so, either side of sydney? Choose any cities you like and say why..

    Thank You,
    Dan:p

    Hi lundimardi,
Out of the places you'd like to go to I've been to Bali....wonderful...loved it....the culture and traditions are fascinating...
i've also been to new york....what a city..so exciting and easy to get around...would definitely reccommend it!
you could do a search on this forum (if you haven't done so already)to see what people have already said about the places you are interested in.

Having lived in San Fran, I would highly recommend a stop here. Weather is great, people are great & you can see all the famous sights, the trams, china town alcatraz its got a great atmosphere. v friendly.

Ive never been but I reckon a stop in the big apple is a must. No other city like it in the world.

My bro went to Oz & stopped in Tokyo on the way. He said it was brilliant but v expensive so go there if you have enough money.

Fiji is a yes-yes.Been there, went back, would go again in an instant.

Apparently Melbourne is a great place to go in Oz - seeing as you're going to be in Sydney for a while, you could make a stop. & of course NZ. I've never been to North island, but south island is wonderful.

Now on to ze hother 'emisphere. Definitely India & China. Thailand's always overrun with tourists - I have a friend who's in Vietnam at the moment & loving it.

I've been to Hong Kong a few times & it's definitely the place to go if you're unsure of going into China. Obviously, way more people speak English, you wont stand out as much etc etc.

And India. I guess in both China & INdia you'll have to choose one city...

    howzat?

    das crazah cool!!!

I'm thinking i'll stay away from america this trip around, as it's apparently more expensive as far as air fares are concerned, so i might leave that till next year.. Besides, i'll be in america in July so....

Fiji sounds great, never even thought about that! nice one:)

I'm thinking something along the lines of Dublin > Thailand > Hong Kong > Australia(moving around visiting various places like N. Zealand, Melbourne) > Bali > Dublin... maybe a trip to singapore before dublin? where could i fit fiji into that equation?

    So many choices!!

Well the thing is America is HUGE so if you decide, for example that you're going to be on the East coast this summer (J1??) then that still leaves all of the West coast and vice versa so you could do....

    Dublin > San Fran/ NY > Fiji > OZ >Bali > HK > Thailand etc....

    just a thought....;)
