The Garda carriage office, i think, handles all property lost in taxis around Dublin.
    Is this correct?

Has anyone had any experience of getting property back after they have left it in a taxi?
I'm wondering cause the g/friend left some stuff behind in a taxi on sat night and i'm wondering if there is any point in looking for it.

I was in there last year, and they had a lot of stuff. Not my stuff though.

You just have to go in and see if they have it.

At least try. It would be handy to have any details to hand (taxi number, time, origin-destination....).

Iphone 4 lost in taxi on Saturday morning (3 November 2012 - 3am)
MY Nigerian brother called Okasimba (Okasimbo), You picked me up in Dame Street Dublin, from taxi rank close to Olympia Theatre on Saturday morning last (3rd Nov at approx. 3am) and drove me to <snip> South Circular Road, Kilmainham - fare €9 plus tip, because you are a follower of Jesus I sang you two gospel songs ( Jesus on the mainline and There's a bright side somewhere) which I hope you enjoyed! I left my white iphone4 in black flip-over cover and a €50 note on the front passenger seat while I stood and searched for coin change in my pocket. I paid you and you kindly handed back the €50 note which I had almost forgotten about - you are an honest man, I know this! Unfortunately neither of us saw the Iphone in the black cover on the black seat. I would be eternally grateful to you if you have found my phone and can help in getting it back to me - for this I will be very happy to give you a present of €100 - not for the value of the phone, but, for the photos of my best friend for 33 years Donald and who is now terminally ill and is likely to pass away within days - I was in Dublin to visit him on Friday evening at his home in Dublin. You were driving a black/dark Marcedes C class. Please telephone me on <snip> and I will meet you at the same Dame Street, I will travel from my home in Waterford. Many thanks and may Jesus bless you!! Oli

I'm removed the exact address and the phone number in the above. Perhaps best to send a private message.
