British SKY Box + Irish Card = ? Help

    Hi,

    I have a SKY Box from London. It has NEVER had any card used in it at any time.

    I just use it for freeview, but there are a lot of Chnls that are freeview, that I dont get, and odd things happen from time to time, like my end BBC 2's dissapearing (not ch 102) the BBC Wales, Scotland etc.... None of the adult chnls ever show up on the EPG. When Film 4 do a freeview weekend, I cant get it?

    MY MAIN QUESTION!
    My family are away just gone for a week, Ive taken their SKY card (Irish Box with an Irish Card) from their home and want to stick that Irish Card in my British Box..... will anything happen??????? that I may regret

    Any replies as asap please, cause Im currently like Dougal in Father Ted, in the Cockpit of the aeroplane with the Huge Red Button with DO NOT PUSH written on it..... Careful Now!

    You will lose the UK EPG unless you put in a dummy card. See "UK EPG trick" in ICDGopedia. i.e. Apart from BBC1NI, BBC2NI, ITV3, ITV4 and MMM all BBC (inc radio) and ITV only via "other channels"

    Without a dummy card trick or UK card (why not order a FTV card at 21Quid?) the box will "remember" the Irish EPG (though the Irish channels won't work) even when you give the card back!



    Film4 Free weekends only work with active subscriber cards.


    Any premium channels (Sky Movies, Sky Sport, Setanta, Disney etc) won't work in a different box.


    I wonder is your dish alignment or LNB skew OK as you should not lose any BBC channels normally.

    I think the Adult channels are now by default missing without a card. With a card under Parental control you can trun them on or off
