depends on the airline... best to check with the airline you are using

I've flown with American Airlines, Delta, Aer Lingus, SpanAir and British Airways and out of those, only SpanAir requested that we should ask one of the crew on board for permission to use mp3 and other devices, all others were fine. I think what you're allowed on a plane isn't restricted that much, apart from sharp objects, knifes, explosives, guns etc.....well obviously. But as jhegarty said, best to check with the airline.

Of course MP3 players are allowed. You'll be requested not to use it on take-off and landing and thats it.

Be careful though, I was on an Aer Lingus flight over 2 years ago and I was told I couldn't use my iPod. Although I think that's because they were just out and nobody knew what they were :D

It's only in the last couple of years that they've allowed things like mp3 players to be used on planes.

Could anyone tell me if you can bring a guitar on a plane? I wouldn't trust it's safety in luggage.

The policies depend on the airline (re instruments) - best to call them before booking to check it out.

Nope it depends on the size...will it fit in the o/h locker or not.. in extreme cirsc airlines will make special arrangements.....

Are you... Rory gallagher..Jimi hendrix... James galway... Eric Clapton...Marc Knopffler...???? If not.... forget it.... she goes in the hold

MP3 players are allowed on air france. No problems there....

You just have to turn it off during take off and landing...
