socket 845=478?

    i have a socket 845 mobo with a pentium 4 1.7GHz in it. i'm looking at upgrading it but i can't find socket 845 pentium 4's. 845 seems to be identical to socket 478. is it?

    You're getting mixed up between the socket and chipset. The 845 is the chipset. It supports 478pin P4s as far as I know.
