My HD-ready tv - opinions

Well the tv's grand in the respect of HD as its 1366 x 768p panel so HD resolutions, now it doesnt have HDMI according to the phillips sites spec, but the cnet one says it has a HDMI terminal, so for now ill take it that it doesnt, but it does have DVI with HDCP, which means your ok, all you need is a HDMI to DVI Adaptor for your HDMI equipment but because its DVI this means no sound through the DVI cable so you will have to run a seperate audio feed to the tv for when you want sound

Can you look behind the Tv and search for what looks like this, just to verify you either do or dont have one

Now im not sure what HD connector the xbox comes with, but if its component well this tv doesnt have component connections direct but it does supply a VGA to YPbPr-Cinch cable so that will get you out of trouble.
One other thing is the contrast ratio is low 600:1, and the response times are 18ms, so you may notice a bit of blurring from white/grays to blacks.
Other than those the tv is a Phillips so they are a good brand.

Cool , thanks for that Sparky.
    Unfortunatley it doesnt have HDMI.

and the contrast ration being a bit low - does that mean lower quality picture?

any other opinions on this ????

on btw , it cost €1300

No doesnt really mean lower picture quality as such, but rather the blacks will look greyer.

Some tvs come with dynamic contrast to boost the ratio to make it look darker.

The 360 uses component hd cables, make sure the "hdtv" switch is on the right position on the av cable, and the dash is set up right so hd is used.
