IIRC you might have set the keyboard to US English or something? Could be wrong here though, but I think I did this myself a while ago.

Check in the Control Panel, the keyboard option should be in there and you should be able to set things right. Can't for the life of me remember how I sorted it before, sorry if that doesn't work. I'm sure someone else here will know.

go into control panel, click language, and regional options and then click the Languages tab.Under Text services and input languages, click Details.English Us will probably still be selected. select it and click remove. it'll disappear but when you click ok it'll say it couldn't delete it because it was the default or something like that. english ireland will now be the default anyway so just open the thing again and this time you'll be able to delete US english. i know its arseways but it works for me.

and if you find that after you do it, you have to press an apostrophe ->' twice before it'll show up, as i did with the irish settings, change it to english UK settings. having to press ' twice is something to do with making it easier to put in fadas i think ('+e=é)

ALT GR (to the right of space bar) + (a,e,i,o,u) will display fada

    á é í ó ú

    if set up for English(Irish)

An easy shortcut to changing the language setting is:

    <LEFT ALT> + <SHIFT>

...I learned this the hard way after repeatedly changing my language by accident and swapping the @ and " on my keyboard.

    Hope this helps.
