Yes, somebody out there thought it was a good idea to make.........
    Fantastic Four 2

I'm really surprised, did it actually do well at the box office?
Also, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and the guy who played Reed Richards aren't confirmed on imdb as being in it, just Michael Chiklis.

It made $150million in the US (and probably the same again worldwide). A sequel is not a surprise.

Still, it was a piece of tripe imho.

I liked the movie. No worse then some of the other adaptions in my opinion.

That seems to be the general thinking on it as well really, so not surprised there is a sequel. It did quite well...

Fantastic Four stopped the downward trend at the US box office in the summer that had been going for something like 2 months.

Not suprised there's a sequel. The makers pretty much said there'd be one after it did well its first weekend.

Cost $100mil and made back 3 times that amount.

They could explain away Alba not being in it easy enough... They could just say she is invisible and has a sore throat.

And they can replace the Human Torch with an annoying robot like they did in the cartoon series.

They could just say she has a sore throat.
Seems plausible considering I reckon that's how she got all her breaks in 'acting' so far.

    More entertaining than the movie.

The film was alright. A bit dull, but the fact that Dr. Doom sucked hurt it a lot. I wouldn't mind a sequel. It's not like I'm being forced to see it :)

Hmm, I'm hoping that's rubbish, I think that might be one of Uwe's tactics to get the project into his hands. I think the consensus is that Ryuhei Kitamura is the only man to do MGS.

Why do they let him direct more films? Fair enough everyone deserves a chance but Alone in the Dark, House of the Dead and now (apparently) Bloodrayne? Enough is enough. It's not like they had bad cast choices either....

fantastic four has always confused me...

    why are they heroes?

They didnt do one heroic thing in the movie.

You have origin, then you have big bridge pile up caused by the fantastic four, you have Dr Doom who instead of trying to take over the world gets into a fist fight and jealous hissy fit with the fantastic four (ok he kills his boss, but who wouldnt if they had super powers) Where is the evil plot they must stop to save the world? Why are people cheering them on, you have super charged heroes wrecking your city in a little jealous love spat? it makes no sense

And no one making the film noticed this?

yeah the movie never went anywhere, there was no climax, it was one of the worst superhero movies i have seen, + all the "xtreme" sports footage is just painful

lets make him a snowboarder & motocross driver that will make him a hit with the kids argh!!!

C'mon people - at the end of the first one Von Doom is in the prison van and the guy outsides electronic something or other gets scrambled...and then the boat he is on is destined for 'Latveria". If you didnt see a sequel coming then you must have been A. asleep b. walked out or c. committed suicide during the scene when Alba and plastic man started gettin to know eachother again

A friend of mine who is a boardsie has dragged me to both the Fantastic 4 and Van Helsing.....both of which will or will probably have sequels. Someone should find every copy of both of those films and burn them. "they are just a bit of fun" is not an excuse! Hellboy was an example of a somewhat similar but well made film. Money determines if sequels are made! I wouldnt be surprised if only a few of the original cast return

I've never read the comic book but I thought hellboy (the movie) was rubbish. It was just so flat I didn't even care what was coming next. Add to that the whole nigh-invincibility of the guy not to mention that 'stalker' thing he had going on with that girl who was continually made it clear she was not interested and just made me ask myself 'eh why exactly should I be rooting for this guy?'

hellboy, though not the greatest movie ever made was massively better than fantastic 4

I enjoyed van helsing just for the nonstop action it was something i wasnt expecting much of but got alot out of, in the same vain as avp & freddy vs jason (both of which i enjoyed though f Vs J was the far superior of the 2)

I'd like to see a sequel, pretty much for the same reasons that BlitzKrieg used to explain why the first one was crap (don't want to quote and ruin the spoiler, altough maybe I'd be doing people a favour :v: ). Basically I'm hoping that now they've got the origin and all the character development crap out of the way, they might actually make a film this time.

I felt the first FF could have been better if therE was a bit more length to it.

I know the reason i found the likes of spiderman2 and xmen1&2 (all films pushing if not exceeding the 2hr mark i think) so good/brilliant (roll on may for x3, my girlfriend gets odd with me anytime were in the cinema and i see the X3 poster and start humming the music) was because character development/origin was well interspersed with continuous bursts of action, action which demonstrated the good guys and bad guys abilities and gave you that feeling of "how the f**k can they overcome those odds!?"

I reckon that maybe if FF2 has possibly a bit more length and little less character development it could be decent.
