FTA: Channels missing

I've checked the faq and the wiki page but can't seem to find out where my channels are hiding! I got a dish and digital receiver installed. It's pointing at astra (same as sky).I did a channel search and get something like 1000 channels the majority of them being encrypted sky channels. The only unencrypted channels I get are bbc1, sky news, reality tv,cnn, itv. I thought I should get bbc1,2,3,4 etc... as listed here http://www.lyngsat.com/astra2d.html

Anyone know where my channels are hiding or am I on the wrong FTA sat ? Thanks in advance.

BBC3 & BBC4 only after 7pm on same channels as CBBC and Cbeebies.

Check you have got the transponders listed. If you never updated since buying the box it will be missing transponders.

Thanks for the reply. I bought the box 12 months ago and this is the first time using it. How do I update the transponders, firmware ? It's a triax 262s, their website appears to be down. http://www.triax.dk/

Is there an option on the Tuning menu to scan with Network Search on?

This is a handy way, as the receiver can then pick up the transponders that's miissing from your list. I think there are 91 frequencies in total that can be scanned after the Network search.

No you don't need a firmware update, just the Network tarnasponeder search as Byte says or read manual to see how to manually add a Transponder listed in ICDGopedia or stickies.

thanks for the replies. I can't find a network search anywhere and I don't have the manual anymore. Their website ( triax.com , .se , .dk) is down so I can't find the manual either :(

    Well browse through the menus.

ALL boxes have a facility to manually add a transponder.

MOST boxes have a Network/Table/transponder search option on an already selected / added satellite or transponder.

Some boxes don't let you add a new GOTOX based satellite position without doing it via OTA or PC update. But that isn't your problem.
