    Can you use these to purchase things on Marketplace rather than putting time off your memebership?

    You can either buy the MS points cards that are retailing in the shops or buy the points on Xbox live by credit card.

    The prepaid cards are for membership options only i.e. 1mth, 3mth, 6mth or 12 mth:)

    no as they are only for the purchase or extension of an xbox live account.

    as macker says you wil have to pick up a pre paid points card or buy points over live with a credit card.

    play have both in stock here

    i'v been looking for a points card but have not got hold of one yet so i think i'll pick one up there.

    You should be able to get both kinds of prepaid card in GAME.
