Now, that the thread is cleared up I can discuss this...

Enjoyed it! 3000 dead isn't the figure the evil part of me wanted but I'll accept it. I almost thought they might have to come clean about the alien threat to earth but it was nicely averted. Indeed the Garek ending made sense and was in keeping with his character although they did their usual thing of a rushed ending by having Lam suddenly create the vaccine and distribute it world wide in a few lines of dialog.

Orlan... I dunno. Cameron Bright's performance here wasn't great and I thought he did a good job in "Birth" where he was doing much the same role. Very much. But Tapping did a great job interacting with him and the time at the end, doing the jigsaw, was quite poignant.

Teal'c had a strong role this week. He almost seems to work better as a Jaffa leader as he comes into his own element. Within the SG1 team his abilities are more masked.

Mitchell was alright this week. However he mostly quipped in a manner that seemed to read as O'Neill's lines. He didn't seem to have much force of command on screen - Jackson seemed his equl rather than his subordinate (ok, technically Daniel's civilian and not military and thus not a subordinate but you get my point...)

Landry worked better this week, getting defensive about his team but Hammond's appearance felt just too token. He didn't really add anything other than to pop in for a few lines. And Lam, interacting with Landry, seemed a bit too angry - and how unprofessional of her was it to discuss their personal life in front of all the sick men and women who report to Landry?!

I'm interested to see where they take the Ori plot line next. I assume they won't be able to constantly interfere with the Prior's powers, that the Priors will circumvent it. And the fact that they're declaring war on the Ancients could be interesting in terms of the power dynamics - a lot of blood may yet be shed in the battle to end all battles in the Milky Way.

T'was good but anything after battlestar G 11 was anticlimax. I hope next weeks episode follows on with the ori and does'nt give us a filler one.

ok episode but i thought when orlan was talking to smokingman prior that he looked like he was reading his lines

typical sg ending as well, "oh yeah we made a vaccine & cured everyone" & we wont hear anymore about it, i was kinda hoping for a full disclosure of the sg project

so is their prior suppression beacon not effective anymore? or does it only last for a while before the prior can circumvent it?

I liked this episode. I agree the ending was a bit rushed.

I loved the the exchange between Daniel, Mitchell and the prior after he lost his powers... :)

SG1 is still considerably better than Atlantis this season.

i disagree with you tmb, (even though i disagree with most of atlantis' backstory) i think atlantis, on the whole (careful), has been slightly better this season than sg1 although sg1 has had a few decent episodes, beachhead was one of the better episodes of the last few seasons

This episode was better than the norm, I have to say. :)

However I have to agree that the ending was a bit rushed. :(

i think tbh that they are building up to full disclousure of the sg project, maybe towards the end of this season.

but tbh, if they had cured the plague and then told everyone about the stargate, there would have been public uproar against the stargate.

it is getting to the stage tho where all the govs of the world know and soon they might be able to handle tellin the public, imo

The other govts. of the world have known since season 6.
Disclosure would be a good idea but with it, I would see a load of boring earth bound episodes.

The ending was disgustingly rushed, I would have liked to have seen the plague strecth out over the rest of the season...or at least a few episodes.
Getting rid of Garek was good in my opinion but just as ruched as the plague. as what has built up since the first episode, ended in a few seconds...not to mention his new powers.

What happened to orlin was very poignant and I didn't like it personally.

Mitchell and Daniel had great a great exchange after they neutralized the prior...though it was blatently meant for Jack.
I hope Bra'tac does become the new Jaffa leader.

How did the prior get his powers back after the confrontation?

I liked the episode, much better second part than Atlantis.
