I couldn't get one of the DVI-I cables in town so I bought an S-Video to S-Video cable but the picture on the Telly is terrible, very hard to read anything, any suggestions? The telly highest resolution is 1280x768 and the PC's resolution is set to 1024x768 it highest setting

S-Video generally only gives a good enough signal for watching video's. If you wanted to use it as a second monitor, than the vga/dvi cable is the only option really.

and most televisions have a lower resolution something like 720*480, You will never get picture quality of a PC monitor on a standard television.

Why not get that one on ebay?
