    Folks,

Could anyone point me in the right direction regarding sourcing wine making equipment and good raw materials/wine batches for making wine at home - preferably in the Meath/dublin area?:v:

    Thanks,

    Hi,

A few years ago I did this - the only place that was open at the time was a shop in Dun Laoghaire. It's a health shop on a side street near the old shopping centre - in the direction of the Cinema on the left.
I know that's not too much help, but the people in the shop are sound and have all the equipment you need. They don't have too much in the line of wines, just standard red and white. The red that I made with their stuff was fine - made that christmas very merry!

There are places online where you can find other kits for better wine and beer ingredients, but I'd say pick up th equipment here - save a load on postage. The barrel and all equipment cost me about 50euro at the most at the time (about 3 years ago).

It's well worth it tho - you've even got me tempted to get my barrel out again for paddy's day!

    Good luck.

    Gasun,
Check the Beer/Wine/Spirits forum. There's a thread on homebrewing. It primarily deals with beer, but any of the links would also cater for wine making, and I'm sure some of the lads make wine too.

    ZZ and Noby,

Thanks for the useful info! Use to spend a lot of time working in Canada and they were all making wine of one sort or another over there - some great stuff!!! For me I havent actually made any wine myself so Ive been putting this off for a long time and want a crop soon!

    Best Wishes
