Maybe he has no fixed abode and wanted to use a false name and address for something ?? Maybe just looking for something to wipe his ar*e with ??

It could have been innocent or sinister, I guess we'll never know!

However I know my parents have always torn up any bills they throw out.....presumably there is information on them that anyone could use!

Shred!.....it's what all the cool kids are doing these days!

    its an even scarier thought

He could have been looking for Credit Card statments, etc.

Let this be a lesson; Tear up bills/statments/anything with personal info on it before you throw it out

shred anything with your name on it, they're not expensive these days.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 152 ✭✭N_Raid

yeah sounds like he was after them for identity theft. all you need to get a lot of IDs is someones birth cert (which afaik is easy to get) and a utility bill. if even. you might have just saved your friend from getting bills for credit cards he didnt get or use.

you dont even have to get a shredder just tear up the bit with your name and address so its unreadable

Those Eastern Europeans, they're a hoot. You should have told him that if you saw him again you would give him 'much beating'

this may be a bold statement...but if the middle east and eatern europe and all of their residents around the worldwere to vanish off the face of the earth...then there would be alot less crime and alot less news...not being racist but its true sorry...

like one of my favourite phrases goes...

not all middle easterns are terrorists but all terriorists are middle easterns

I don't care if you think that, but you could at least admit that it is racist. Unless youre saying that you could remove millions of people from any random area and there would be less global crime, in which case you have a point.
like one of my favourite phrases goes...

This is one of your favourites? Its not quite big like Kennedy or Gandhi is it... I dont want to hear the others

not all middle easterns are terrorists but all terriorists are middle easterns

So what did the man do after you took the bills from him?

Did you ask your friend if he knew anyone like this?

IdentityTheft is gonna be a huge problem ... even your name, address and date of birth is a serious combination for anyone to have...

As for original bills and documents with financial information on them should defo not be thrown out or better shredded ...

Be careful with receipts espec credit/laser cards

    PROTECT YOUR IDENTITY....

Be careful of having online forums giving too much information away about yourself !!!!

The middle east is in the news for a few very good reasons actually, theres a war going on there and most of the new religious terrorist organisations are being formed there.

You don't know of any active terrorist organizations outside of the middle east? or even any that were active in the nineties? Fifteen miles from where Im posting is a town called Omagh have you heard of that? Kingsmill? Belfast? FARC? ETA?
Read some newspapers before you post on this topic, everyone's opinion is worth listening to but only as long as they understand what theyre saying. Terrorism is a universal problem, at the moment a lot of it is coming out of the middle east.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 806 ✭✭✭Atrocity

blah blah racism is bad kids, not all eastern europeans are terrorists. is this going to run for 21 pages of boring political rant? probably.
