Here is my computer. A Toshiba Equium A60-692. There's a problem with the sound. Well, basically the sound hasn't been working over the last few weeks. Any suggestions?

does media player give an error when you try to play a sound

    yes...drivers, hardware

try running a wondows update, and selecting to install hardware updates too
if it takes the pc a long time to post, then the onboard soundcard might be damaged

no... volume, speakers, cable, speakers plugged into mic
try plugging in headphones into all the sockets (audio ones, not the mains)
volume, goto start progrmas, assecories, entertainment and volume, move all sliders up full

God i'm some fool. I'm sorry for troubling you. I've just figured out that there is a volume control beside the headphone sockets on the side of the computer. Very hard to see. :) Cheers for your help.
