Anybody able to recommend a nice dark soft black eyeliner, that won't make my eyes stream? I'm well impressed with the Armani foundation, so figured here would be a good place to ask about it. :)

Black eyeliner is fairly bog standard TBH, unlike foundation. For sensitive eyes try the bodyshop. Personally, No.7 is grand but Lancome eye pencil is good for doing your lining in a flash.

For 60's smoky eyes and a softer pencil, pout eyeliner is yer only man.:)

I'm pretty sure the soft pencil I got before was No.7
It was great, it was almost like a felt-tip marker. Ran out of that and couldn't find another one.

Use a standard pencil Rimmel now, and liquid liner from Bourjois ("Eyeliner Pinceau/Brush"). I find the latter in particular works for ages and doesn't just disappear like some others do.

You should try the MAC black powder eye liner - it comes in the same thing as their eye shadow, you'll need to get one of their small slanty eyeliner brushes to put it on but it's really worth it, gives a fab finish to smokey eyes

I think i've seen that in Boots, yeah? I must have sensitive eyes, I'm driven mad with them streaming today after changing to a Bourjois eyeliner, doesn't always happen though!

Not sure I have a steady enough hand for that, tried liquid eyeliner too and that was a complete disaster!

that's the great thing about the MAC stuff, if you mess it up it still looks good, it's not supposed to be a perfect line, give a smokier look

Hmm, am tempted now - that's the kind of look I like rather than the cat eyes thing. Do you know how much the brush costs? I went to get a foundation brush when I was buying the armani foundation and it was 50 euro

Think I could get away with a cheaper set from boots or whatever? :)

I got it in BT in limerick & it was €24.00, it's really good though

tbh, I find Rimmel's black eye liner the best. I find Benefit's Bad Gal and MAC etc not as good.

I use L'Oreal Contour Resist eye pencil, cos i find liquid liner impossible to get on properly, and it just ends up looking messy on me.

I like the Rimmell eyeliners too.

I normally don't like cheaper make up, but I swear by Barbara Daly's pencil eyeliner. It's soft, perfect for sensitive eyes, and stays on for the full day/night. It's approximately €5.50 and is available only as part of Tesco's own range of makeup called "Make Up by Barbara Daly". Well worth it. MAC is good too, but I find a get a more defined line with the cheaper brand! MACs coloured liners are the best of their kind, but for plain black, stick to Make Up or Rimmel.

Rimmel for me too, nothing fancy but they work as good as the rest and dont irritate sensitive eyes.

I think POUT is only in BT's. Maybe you're thinking of Pop? It is good for smudging but not for the inside of the eyes.

I would buy a No.7 or Rimmel eyeliner if I were you - inexpensive mistakes at the least- and see how you get on with them.

For less expensive make-up brushes try The Body Shop. I don't know if they do the slanted eyeliner brushes, but they do have a good range nevertheless.:)

Got the name of the one from MAC for you - it's called CARRON, totally brilliant

Bodyshop do stock the slanted eyeliner brushes, they're €12.

Yeah I found Rimmels eyeliners to be just as good as the ones from the more professional make-up ranges

Yeah Rimmel is really good....besides, just because something is more expensive doesn't mean it's automatically going to be better.

Can't do the liquid eyeliner application either at all and even my pencil application is crap! So what I am finding brilliant is gel eyeliner with a good brush - am loving the stila and bobby brown ones - excellent investment!

I used to use Rimmel and Maybelline..I think they're really crap, tbh.

Dior eyeliner is really, really good.

i find the Rimmel one is fairly hard, if you're trying to get a smokey look... personally i use Gosh (you can get it in Roches) pencil eyeliner; it's soft enough to do smokey but hard enough to define. can't remember the price, but cheap enough - around €7 or thereabouts - under a tenner anyway! i wear contact lenses as well, and my eyes are fairly sensitive but i find this one to be ok.

i have this problem too but i discovered that if you put on a really messy thick line (for eyelid, upper lash), close your eye and with a tissue with eye-make-up remover and wipe down to remove most of it, it leaves a neat line. ok, it's a thin enough line but it's tidy and looks fine. plus you can back it up with some pencil liner if you like. i find this works quite dandily :D

bourjois is good for smudging etc because its very soft, rimmel is good if you want it to last long. if you hold your breath when you are drawing a line with liquid eyeliner your hand wont wobble as much and you'l get a smoother line also draw one line dont do lots of little small lines

Clinique quickliner for eyes is amazing. it's got a roll up tip so you never need a pencil parer. It's soft but it never smudges or runs, unless you want to smudge it- it's got a little smudging tip at the other end if you want the smoky look. I have it in purple and green, but i know they have a black one. It lasts for ages too.

Makeup forever's eyeliner pen is amazing! It's slightly oily, so it stays put, and wont even get into your eyes to make them stream!

Boujoir (spelling?) Liner Stylo in Noir from Boots, around e8, methinks.
its pretty good and lasts a good while

i have tried loads an the best I have found is a liquid pen from boots its really easy to use its boots 17 I think and its only about 7 euro better than all teh expensive ones i trie. benefit kohl liner and barry m are also good

Eyeliner I use is usually the liquid kind - looks a bit like eyeshadow, but you wet the brush before dabbing it. Got it in brown thomas. I love it

That's the one I'm using that's making my eyes stream.. and yet I still haven't got around to buying a different one. :(

I've tried Rimmel - too hard.
    Can't use liquid at all.

Got a sample of Dior that I'd forgotten all about and it was brilliant, might try that. Otherwise I'll be weeding out a suggestion from the stuff above. :)

Liquid eye liner is really easy to use, you just need to get used to it. Rest your elbow on a table while you put it on it will steady your hand. Also I always put it on very thickly and then dip a cotton bud into make up remover and tidy it up. I find this works the best , always works out well when i do it this way

Roches do really good cake eyeliner that you need to wet with a brush. They come in different shades of black as well. Its alot easier to put this type of liquid eyeliner on as thinly and neatly as possible as opposed to the liquid eyeliners that come in tubes with the brush inside. Recommended to me by a make up artist. 10/10

Is that Roches own brand? Sounds good.

I wear mac smoulder eyeliner on the bottom, only at the edges of my eye not the whole way under, and a rimmel liquid one on the top. It usually looks nice enough

Im not actually sure...think it might be as ive never noticed a logo on it...
It just looks like eyeshadow. And you have to buy the eyeliner brush to go with it. It is really good. I used to use rimmel liquid eyeliner and similiar products but since i discovered cake eyeliner i find that much easier to apply and less of a mess to clean up if it all goes wrong. I find i can get much closer to the roots of the lashes with the brush aswell. You can make the overall look alot more subtle than with the average liquid eyeliner if thats the look you're going for...

Rimmel all the way!! i used to try to put eyeliner on the inner lower part of my eye but my eyes would stream like the OP. ive found rimmel very easy to apply (i put it underneath lower lashes) but tbh it depends on yourself, you should try a few to see what suits you.
